MSU DEMONSTRATION SCHOOLS ART AWARDS

MSU Primary and Secondary Demonstration Schools have between them won six awards in an art competition run at Silpakorn University Art Gallery in Bangkok to honour the occasion of the eighty-fourth birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol.

The art competition is run by the Silpakorn University of Fine Arts in collaboration with the PTT Public Company Ltd to encourage creativity in artists of all ages for the continuing development contemporary art in Thailand.

The competition was divided into four categories: painting, sculpture, prints and other visual art. Age groups were under 9, 9 to 13 and 14 to 17. Entries were judged on May 28 and the awards presentation held on June 9.

Mahasarakham University Primary and Secondary schools six awards included two prizes, one award for excellence, one for outstanding work plus two honourable mentions.

The works will be on display at Silpakorn University Art Gallery until July 29. The exhibition will then travel to Thaksin University, Khon Kaen University and Chiang Mai. ... more pics
